Brachioplasty
Brachioplasty
No more hiding your arms. Wear what you want, with complete confidence. Loose, sagging skin on the upper arms — commonly called 'bat wings' — is caused by ageing-related skin laxity, significant weight loss, or genetics. No amount of exercise can tighten skin that has lost its elasticity.
surgically removes this excess skin and reshapes the upper arm, producing a smooth, toned, and defined contour from shoulder to elbow. "Patients who have brachioplasty tell me it changes how they dress — sleeveless tops, evening wear, summer clothing they had avoided for years. That freedom is priceless." — Dr.

Types of Arm Lift
Limited Incision Brachioplasty For mild skin laxity confined to the armpit area. Scar is hidden within the axilla. Limited correction but minimal visible scarring. Suitable for younger patients with early laxity.
Standard Brachioplasty The most common technique. The scar runs along the inner arm from the armpit to the elbow — hidden when the arms are at the sides. Removes significant skin and produces a dramatically improved contour.
Extended Brachioplasty For patients with skin excess extending from the upper arm onto the lateral chest wall. Necessary after massive weight loss affecting the arm and torso. Brachioplasty with Liposuction Most patients benefit from the combination of liposuction (to remove excess fat) with brachioplasty (to remove excess skin). Liposuction alone is only appropriate for patients with good skin elasticity and excess fat rather than excess skin.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will the arm lift scar be visible?
When the arms are at rest by the sides, the inner arm scar is not visible. It becomes visible when arms are raised or extended. Most patients readily accept this trade-off for the dramatic improvement in arm contour. Scars fade significantly over 12-18 months.
Can liposuction alone correct bat wings? If the excess is primarily fatty (with good skin elasticity), liposuction alone may significantly improve arm contour. However, if there is excess sagging skin, liposuction will not tighten it and may worsen the appearance.
Dr. Bhavya Sree will assess your skin quality to determine the right approach. Is brachioplasty combined with other procedures? Yes — brachioplasty is very commonly performed as part of a Stage 2 post-weight-loss contouring plan alongside a breast lift. It can also be combined with a back lift for comprehensive upper-body contouring.
