Techniques Used Simple Repair (Suturing of Remnants)
When sufficient
hymenal remnant tissue is present, the remnants are carefully sutured together using fine, dissolving sutures to recreate the hymen. The most straightforward technique with the fastest recovery. Alloplant Technique A thin, biocompatible material is used to bridge the vaginal opening when insufficient natural hymenal tissue remains. The material integrates with surrounding tissue. Effective and well-tolerated.
Flap Reconstruction Using a small flap of vaginal wall mucosa to reconstruct the hymen when no natural remnant is available. A more complex technique offering reliable results even in challenging cases.
Anaesthesia
Local anaesthesia with sedation (most cases) or general anaesthesia Duration 30-60 minutes

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does
hymenoplasty last? Once fully healed (4-6 weeks), the reconstructed hymen functions as a natural hymen would. For planned future events, timing the procedure 3-6 months in advance allows complete healing and optimal tissue integration.

The procedure is performed under anaesthesia and is pain-free. Post-operatively, there is mild discomfort and sensitivity for 3-5 days, easily managed with standard pain relief. Most patients return to light daily activity within 2-3 days.
Is this procedure legal? Hymenoplasty is a legal procedure in India. It is a medical procedure performed by a licensed and qualified surgeon with the patient's full, free, and informed consent. Speak to Dr.
