Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty
Comfort. Confidence. A concern you no longer have to carry quietly. is the surgical reshaping or reduction of the labia minora (inner vaginal lips) and, in some cases, the labia majora (outer vaginal lips). It is one of the most commonly performed intimate surgery procedures worldwide — and one of the most life-changing for the women who undergo it.
The labia minora vary enormously in size and shape between women — all of which is entirely normal. However, when enlarged, elongated, or asymmetric labia cause physical discomfort, chafing, pain during exercise or intercourse, difficulty with hygiene, or persistent self-consciousness, labiaplasty offers a precise and highly effective solution.
Labiaplasty is one of the fastest-growing cosmetic procedures globally. The most common driver is not aesthetics alone — the majority of patients present with significant functional discomfort that has impacted their exercise, intimacy, and daily comfort for years.

What Labiaplasty Can Address Labia Minora Concerns Enlarged or elongated labia minora causing friction, chafing, or pain when cycling, running, or doing yoga Discomfort or pain during sexual intercourse due to labial traction Labial tissue protruding beyond the labia majora , causing self-consciousness in swimwear or fitted clothing Asymmetry between the two sides Labial elongation following childbirth or ageing Hygiene difficulties due to excess tissue folds Labia Majora Concerns Deflated, loose, or sagging labia majora following weight loss or ageing Excess, puffy labia majora causing discomfort or visible bulge Asymmetry of the outer lips
Surgical Techniques
Trim (Edge) Technique The excess edge of the labia minora
is removed, creating a straight, neat border. Simple and effective for straightforward reductions. The natural darkened edge of the labia is removed — producing a lighter-edged result. Most commonly requested technique.
Wedge Technique A V-shaped wedge of tissue is removed from the centre of the labia, preserving the natural edge and its pigmentation. Produces a very natural-looking result with the original labial border intact.
Dr. Bhavya Sree's preferred technique in many cases for its natural aesthetic. De-epithelialisation For patients who want reduction of bulk without changing the labial edge appearance. Tissue is removed from the inner surface. Preserves the natural edge completely.
Labia Majora Reduction / Augmentation Labia majora reduction removes excess skin and fat through discreet incisions. Labia majora augmentation uses fat grafting to restore volume to deflated outer lips — a common concern after significant weight loss or ageing.
Clitoral Hood Reduction ( Hoodoplasty ) Excess prepuce (clitoral hood) tissue is often addressed simultaneously with labiaplasty when it contributes to aesthetic or functional concerns. This is discussed at consultation and incorporated where appropriate.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is labiaplasty painful?
The procedure is performed under anaesthesia — you will feel nothing during surgery. Post-operatively, the area is tender and swollen for the first few days, managed comfortably with prescribed pain relief and ice packs. Most patients describe the recovery as much easier than expected. By Day 5, the majority are comfortable in loose clothing and returning to desk work.
Will labiaplasty affect sexual sensation?
When performed correctly,
labiaplasty does not reduce sexual sensation — in fact, many patients report improved sensation and comfort during intercourse following surgery, as the physical discomfort and psychological self-consciousness that previously inhibited intimacy are resolved. Sensation to the clitoris and surrounding area is carefully preserved in all techniques used by Dr.
Bhavya Sree . Will it affect my ability to have children? Labiaplasty does not affect fertility, pregnancy, or the ability to carry a child. It is worth noting that pregnancy and childbirth may alter the result — many women choose to complete their families before labiaplasty for this reason, though many others proceed earlier and are very satisfied.
Will the result look natural? Absolutely. The goal of labiaplasty is never a single 'template' result — it is to create labial proportions that are natural for your anatomy, comfortable, and symmetrical. Results look entirely natural — not surgical.
Is this procedure confidential? Completely. Dr. Bhavya Sree's
clinic operates under the strictest standards of patient confidentiality. Your consultation, records, images, and personal details are known only to you and your treating team. Intimate surgery patients are given additional privacy protections at all stages of their care.
